Federal Government Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications Officer to join their Strategic Communications Division. As an APS5 Strategic Communications Officer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing multi-channel communications and engagement strategies to support key initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver strategic communication plans that are clear, concise, and effective for people with disability, their families and carers, staff, and partners
- Interpret complex information (like legislation) and translate it into clear, accessible massaging
- Embed inclusive and accessible principles in all communication approaches and collateral
- Provide specialist advice and interpretation of communication processes, guidelines, and policies
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to scope needs, resolve issues, and achieve positive outcomes
- Assist with scheduling, coordination, and publishing communication content
- Undertake a wide variety of general tasks, including managing inbox enquiries, preparing reports on communication activities, and providing content to varied internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Experience in strategic communications, marketing, or a related field
- Strong understanding of inclusive and accessible communication principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in stakeholder management and engagement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
