About the Team
The Agency Budget and Finance Controls Branch is responsible for managing the Agency's financial operations and delivering insightful financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. The team ensures compliance with legislative requirements, manages the development and maintenance of finance systems, and provides financial advice to assist with budgeting and financial performance analysis.
About the Role
As an APS5 Finance Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Data Integrity & Invoice Reconciliation: Ensure the accuracy of supplier data and reconcile major supplier invoices, validating them against internal records.
- Supplier Invoice Processing: Process supplier invoices on purchase orders, manage disputed charges, obtain credit notes from suppliers, and prepare supplier statement reconciliations.
- Document Drafting: Prepare a range of written materials, including emails, reports, executive briefs, and corporate documentation.
- Financial Management Advice: Provide financial management guidance to internal and external stakeholders to enhance financial operations within the Agency.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators, and quality assurance to support local management in overseeing performance.
- SAP Reporting: Undertake daily, weekly, and end-of-month SAP financial reports and offer assistance to SAP FI users.
Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Australian Citizenship
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong ability to interpret data, apply analytical thinking, and support practical financial solutions.
- Financial Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in financial operations, including invoice processing, reporting, and reconciliation.
- SAP Proficiency: Experience with SAP FI and financial reporting tools
Desirable Criteria
- Intermediate Excel Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
- SAP Experience: Experience with SAP Accounts Payable and SAP Essentials.
- Government Procurement Knowledge: Understanding of government procurement processes and goods receipting.
- Shared Services Provider Experience: Experience working with shared services providers.
