Reporting to the Assistant Director Employee and Change Communications (ECC), the Employee and Change Communications Advisor uses specialist knowledge and skills to manage internal communication channels. They use their excellent writing skills to produce content tailored for specific purposes, including creative and engaging material. The Dep is a geographically dispersed organisation, and our communications and channels are pivotal to supporting and connecting our employees across the country - to help drive engagement and understanding of our strategic priorities.
About you Essential
- Profile: MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN
- Excellent content writing: able to communicate effectively across all mediums using easy to understand language and plain English with a developed ability to tailor messages to the audience. Write 1-2 articles per day.
- Effective stakeholder relationships: Acts with honesty, integrity and respect in dealings with others. Has the ability to understand others' perspectives, respectfully deal with conflict, manage boundaries and appreciate others' strengths and skills. Works effectively with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Online content management: Demonstrates and applies specialist knowledge to ensure content governance of the intranet is maintained through the development, implementation, promotion and maintenance of processes, procedures and standards for publishing. Experienced with Sharepoint, Adobe suite and Microsoft tools.
- Monitoring and reporting: Collect, collate, monitor and analyse digital channel activities against objectives and produce standard and ad hoc reports for use by the ECC team and divisional leadership.
- Publishing and communications: Contribute to developing and implementing communication plans and initiatives, including developing templates, writing, editing, and distributing internal communication materials in accordance with established quality, governance and editorial standards including Australian Government Style Manual.
- Knowledge of tools: Sharepoint, Microsoft, Canva , Adobe Creative Cloud suite or other professional tools, web applications and content management systems desirable.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in communications, content writing, copywriting, editing or similar.
- Soft skills: collaborative, people friendly, authentic, empathetic, manage relationships,team player, supportive, attention to detail, creative.
- Experience: min 5 years in similar role, in an APS environment (is ideal)
