Job Description: Assistant Accountant

Location: Brisbane
Salary: Up to $80,000 + Super
Work From Home: 2 days per week after probation

Our client, a leading company in the industry, is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals with experience from small to mid-tier/large accounting firms who are looking to progress in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily bank reconciliations for high-volume accounts.
Support front-line business teams with customer and system financial inquiries.
Assist the finance team with various financial accounting tasks, including:
- Processing journals such as accruals and prepayments.
- General ledger reconciliations.
- Analyzing company expenditure by expense type and cost centre.
- Monthly management reporting.
Contribute to the ongoing development of procedures to improve business efficiency.
Assist in the preparation for annual external and internal audits.
Support business projects as required.
Comply with workplace health & safety (WHS) protocols, taking all reasonable directions from leadership.

Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a similar discipline (mandatory).
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within small or mid-tier accounting firms.
Proficiency in MS Excel & Word,and Gmail.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication
