About the Role:
As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in delivering effective and efficient procurement services in accordance with Queensland Government procurement policies and procedures. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes for a diverse range of goods, services, and works, ensuring value for money and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage complex procurement projects, from planning and sourcing to contract management and evaluation.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans aligned with organisational objectives.
- Prepare and evaluate tender documentation, including specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract terms.
- Conduct negotiations with potential suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Queensland Procurement Policy.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes, preferably within a government or large organisation.
- A strong understanding of Queensland Government procurement policies and procedures (or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, business, law, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience at the AO6 level (or equivalent) with a strong focus on procurement.
