About the role
Operating from within the Office of the Executive Director, Technical Services, you will be involved in supporting the Executive Director and Principal Project Officer by providing efficient and effective project support. With a focus on managing the flow of business documentation and looking for continuous business improvement opportunities.
Your key duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate high level corporate documents and processes including conflict of interests, Parliamentary and Estimates processes
- Liaise with departmental officers and senior government staff to facilitate quality outcomes and assist in the smooth running of the Office of the Executive Director
- Research and prepare correspondence, briefs and reports as required by the Office of the Executive Director
- Maintain a high level of understanding of departmental activities, services, organisation arrangements and protocols and provide advice to the Executive Director and Principal Project Officer on current and emerging issues
- Support the Principal Project Officer in a range of tasks, including meeting Business Unit reporting responsibilities
- Provide dedicated project support on high priority emergent business in Business Unit, at the direction of the Principal Project Officer as required
- Provide day-to-day assistance to the Executive Director
- Use of Aurion, SAP, PowerBI and other systems to generate reports, analyse and interpret information and manage projects
- Undertake procurement activities
- Other duties as directed and required
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a public sector Senior Executive or Senior Officer Office is desirable
- Experience in the use of Aurion, SAP, PowerBI or any other information system reporting tools would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of or the ability to acquire the knowledge of information and databases systems would be highly regarded
- Flexibility and the ability work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
