As the Team Leader of Governance, you’ll have the chance to build trust and influence key decision-makers, playing a vital role in the development and delivery of governance frameworks.
In this exciting position, you will lead a dynamic team in an organisation that values your contributions. Your collaborative approach will ensure the smooth development, implementation, and maintenance of governance structures, as you provide critical advice and administrative support to Councillors, the Executive Leadership Team, and Council staff.
This role is located in Shepparton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and interpret legislation to provide expert advice on the Local Government Act, regulations, Local Laws, Codes of Conduct, Governance Rules, and policies to Councillors and Council staff.
- Maintain accurate governance documents and registers, ensuring they are accessible to the public in line with legal requirements and the Council’s Public Transparency Policy.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and minutes for Executive Meetings, Council Meetings and Audit and Risk Management Committee Meetings.
- Work closely with the Manager of Corporate Governance to support the implementation of best practice Governance processes across Council.
